Read the Walter Isaacson book. It was good but not his best work. I believe Twitter was circling the drain for a few years prior to the Musk acquisition. I gave up on it perhaps 3-6 months prior to the acquisition. I think Reddit has always been more substantial anyhow. Even today, for all its warts, decentralized moderation is a TRUE INNOVATION and likely prevents implosion. It never became a place with influencers pushing their branded cosmetics ala Instagram & Twitter. Twitter eventually became commodified like news coverage. Shocking and titillating was what was suctioning and causing it to circle the drain. Just my opinion. Our prior President was purpose-built for the type of foolishness of instantaneous virality. The more ridiculous and shocking the better. To align this sort of speaking without thinking as "the new way" was always a stretch for me.
